A first step towards change

As a qualified integrative counsellor, I use different counselling approaches to tailor therapy to your individual personality, needs, and goals. Valuing your uniqueness, and how things feel to you, I have a genuine interest in understanding who you are and what you’ve been through.

How I work

I draw on several therapeutic approaches, blending them in a way that fits you as a unique person. At the centre of my work is the belief that a safe, empathic, and trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change.

Person-Centred Foundation

My work is grounded in person-centred therapy, which means I see you as the expert on your own life. I offer empathy, acceptance and a non-judgemental, genuine presence which creates a space where you can explore whatever you need to, without pressure or expectation.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

From CBT, I integrate practical tools to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact.
Together, we may:

  • identify unhelpful thinking patterns
  • develop new ways of responding
  • build skills to manage difficult emotions or situations

This approach can be especially helpful if you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

CFT supports you in developing a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself.
We work with:

  • self-criticism
  • shame
  • feelings of not being “good enough”

The aim is to build inner resources like self-compassion, emotional regulation, and a sense of grounding.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Using TA, we may explore the different “parts” of yourself - such as your Parent, Adult, and Child states - to help you understand communication patterns, relational dynamics, and emotional reactions. This can bring clarity to both current struggles and long-standing behaviour patterns.

Psychodynamic Theory

Sometimes the past can shape how we relate to ourselves and others in the present.

Psychodynamic ideas help us explore early experiences, unconscious processes, and relational patterns that may be influencing your current feelings or challenges.

Together, we make sense of these patterns so you can create healthier ways of relating and being.

Recognise. Understand. Change.

How I can help

You may be feeling like you are carrying more than you feel able to right now, or questioning if you can ever feel 'normal'. Whatever your experience is, it matters. You don’t have to carry it alone.

As a psychotherapist, I will support you sensitively and expertly.

Throughout our time together, I offer a warm, down-to-earth, and deeply compassionate human interaction where you can talk openly without judgement. I use gentle, thoughtful challenge when it can help you grow, see patterns more clearly, or move past places where you feel stuck.
